Move-a-Thon

The Move-a-Thon is the PTA’s super fun fundraiser where students run, walk, skip, and dance their way around the playground to help us raise money!

Every lap makes a difference and every student gets to join in

Students collect pledges or donations NOW. Donors can pledge by flat donation or per lap around the playground completed (expect a student to complete 10 to 20 laps).
- To give a flat donation - donations are collected online via GiveButter
- To pledge by the lap - paper pledge sheets were sent home in red folders, students will note and track your pledge via their paper pledge sheet and follow up after the event with the final total.
Friday, May 30 is the Move-a-Thon at school! Each grade has 15-20 minutes to make as many laps around the playground as they can. Volunteers will track of laps for each student and the total laps your student completed will go home that day. Be sure to check your student's backpack for their lap total.
- Come by the Skillin Playground to cheer on the students!
  - 12:55 - Kindergarten
  - 1:15 - 1st Grade
  - 1:35 - 2nd Grade
  - 1:55 - 3rd Grade
  - 2:15 - 4th Grade
All donations are due by Friday, June 6. Immediately after the Move-a-thon students will get their final lap totals and can notify per lap donors of their final donation amounts which can be submitted 2 ways:
1. Online through GiveButter
2. By check made out to Skillin School PTA and sent to school with your student or by mailing to Skillin School PTA at 180 Wescott Rd, South Portland, Maine, 04106

Many companies will match charitable donations made by their employees. This match can double (or triple) your contribution!

For most employer systems, the easiest way to find the Skillin School PTA is to search for our tax payer ID (EIN 01-0493079).

Contact your Human Resources Department and ask about “Matching Funds” for “501(c)(3)” charitable organizations like the Skillin School PTA.

As soon as you make your donation. Some companies distribute corporate matching funds right away, while others process them once a quarter. Some companies have strict time constraints within which employees are required to submit corporate match applications. If your company offers corporate matching, please apply for it right away.
