Our First Playground Meetup is Today!
It’s the first Playground Meetup of the school year! Join us on the Skillin playground today, Sunday, October 1 from 1:00-3:00 for an afternoon of drinks, snacks, music, and fun with the Skillin community.
Come to the Family Information Night and Ice Cream Social on Thursday!

Check out the information fair in the gym to learn more about the school-wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Support and Intervention) initiative, what it means for Skillin Skyhawks to SOAR, the Safety Response Protocol, and more.

Celebrate with an official ribbon cutting for our new playground structure
This will not be a time to visit your child’s classroom or meet with their teacher, conferences will be held later in the fall

PTA Meeting Recap
We had a great meeting last Thursday, thank you to all the new and returning PTA members that attended! Here are some highlights of our discussion…
Principal Connolly gave an update on the beginning of school—everyone is off to a great start!
PTA President, Tasha welcomed new members and thanked returning members for an amazing, foundational year last year. This year is about keep up the momentum, learning from last year, and continuing what was successful to make an amazing experience for all Skillin students
PTA Vice-President, Katy gave an update on the Playground Project:
Kids are loving the new play structure and blacktop!
And there’s much more still to come:
A Gaga Pit will be purchased this Fall
Swings will be installed in the Spring
The Blacktop will be painted with more four squares and other fun activities throughout the year
If you’d like to give input in the evolution of the playground, the Playground Committee will meet on Thursday, October 26 at 6:00 in the Library

2023-24 PTA budget of $18,000
If you’d like to help out, we have 2 great opportunities:
Event Committee Captain - help plan events that bring the Skillin Community together, like the Ice Cream Social and Family Fun Nights. If you’re interested, email SkillinSchoolPTA@gmail.com
Classroom Helpers - Each classroom will have a group of parents to assist with classroom needs. Volunteer as often or as little as you’d like, our teachers appreciate every bit of help! Email SkillinSchooners@gmail.com if you’re interested.
